About Darran
Establishment
Darran LLC was established in 1995 under the Omani Investment Law, registered (graded) excellent with MOCI (Ministry of Commerce and Industry), OCCI (Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry), and the Omani Tender Board.
Establishing Darran has been an exciting challenge. Set primarily to serve as a tourism enterprise, we determined at our very inception that our focus would be to promote Oman through high-level international events targeting upmarket travellers who would appreciate Oman’s culture, heritage and enchanting nature. Darran is the pioneer in integrated marketing and branding solutions with the prime focus on promoting the great Sultanate of Oman as a brand and more importantly as a nation.
Back in 1995 when we created Darran, the concept of Event Management was foreign to the Omani business community. We faced the twin challenge of introducing Oman to the global investors as the perfect international destination where tradition & modernity come together in seamless harmony. On the other hand, we had to instil conviction within the local Omani corporate industry about the importance of our services.
As a small company at the very onset, the going was tough. However, through a series of belief systems, determination and the continuous provision of professional events, we have managed to stay at the top of our game. In pursuing our objective of increasing international awareness of Oman and promoting the country as a model of progressivenessmerged perfectly with traditional values, we have been guided by three firm principles:
- To provide professional events that benefits the local community in a continuous and ongoing process even after the conclusion of the programme.
- To encourage and foster young Omanis to enter this dynamic field and help build Omani professionals to serve the event management industry, which has seen overwhelming growth in recent years.
- To raise our standards higher, and create new benchmarks with each successive event.
The visionary
Mr. Ayman Helal, an Egyptian investor, is the man behind the Darran success story owning a stake of 70% in the company. This distinguished gentleman has extensive entrepreneurial skills and unmatched dynamic business sense. He has been a veteran in the tourism and hospitality industry and has upstaged several key global events with seamless professionalism. His organizational tactics, leadership skills and creative flair has been appreciated over the years. This has enabled him to open new international markets, which has brought much-needed appreciation and leverage to Oman as a prominent destination across the globe. His biggest strength lies in his unmatched negotiating skills, which has helped him clinch several key international events and accounts.
Over the years
Darran specialises in communication design, project marketing and promotion, awareness programmes, event management, as well as film production, all delivered with a trademark of excellence. We are proud to have been involved in several milestone events that have taken place in the country since our establishment. Some of these were held for the first time in Oman and achieved immense success that qualified them to become pioneers as well as models for future events. We have been the first in marketing and communication design as well, having introduced several innovative products and projects to the Oman’s market.
